“Created during my residency in France at Chateau Orquevaux, this piece explores color and abstraction of realistic symbols. For the past few years I have been interested in substituting colors for "emotional" colors, like these pink trees that offer a striking contrast to the mint green textured paper and the lavender foliage. I wanted to capture a storybook feel of different elements coming together to form a story. Here, the caped mistress holds her pink bag, ready for a journey by moonlight.”
