In the words of the artist:

“In this very personal piece, I wanted to capture elements to my personality and imagination that are self descriptive at this point in my life. Many years ago I divined that my spirit animal is the Pegasus, and thus it inhabits the landscape behind me, which represents the fertile ground of the imagination. The crossed cupid's arrows represent an open heart, and the crown of lavender flowers was both an aesthetic choice and has something to do with being a queen of nature. The rainbow symbolizes new hope and a promise for a bright future. The flowers (daffodils) come out in the early spring, my favorite time of year. I looked at a lot of Leonardo Da Vinci as I created this painting.”
