“This piece was also exhibited this Spring 2022 at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, and is inspired by Durer's famous self portrait from the medieval times, with the model's flowing golden hair and direct gaze. This work is about living in harmony with the land and the flora that surrounds us, being one with its life-supporting and nourishing beauty. Vines twine around the arms of the figure, symbolizing a unity with nature.”
