Teaching

Jessica serves as adjuct art professor at Harcum College, art instructor at the Main Line Art Center, and also coaches select artists via Skype who show an intention and dedication to career development. Classes at Harcum College are limited to students enrolled full time in Harcum College. However, classes at the Main Line Art Center are open to the public. Mentoring sessions

$180 monthly, includes 4 hours per month of one on one coaching to reach your creative and career goals via Skype.

Especially geared towards artists who would like to develop a consistent body of work, this weekly session is for students to develop strategic skills and cohesive vision necessary to build a consistent body of work. With personal guidance, detailed demonstrations, and time for practice and making art, this ongoing offers everything you need in order to draw and paint with more confidence and skill. I will be your cheerleader and coach to help you reach your potential!

Each student will begin with a free 30 minute consultation and portfolio review, and an overview of what artistic goals they have. We will discuss strategies and areas of focus in order to achieve these goals. If we decide to work together, I will work with the student to identify artistic and career goals and strategies to move forward. Homework assignments will include drawing and painting from life, creating work from photography, reading, and creative exercises.

We will cover (depending on the student’s area of interest) artistic skills such as line, shape, form, value, shading, drawing techniques with pencil, pastel and ink, oil painting, gilding with gold and silver leaf, goal setting and structuring of studio time, development of an artistic style, overcoming mental and emotion blocks to success, and writing an artist statement.
